Hey everyone! I've got an older Samsung Tab A7 that I've been using as a hotspot to connect my phone and laptop. Since I primarily use my laptop, the hotspot has been on constantly for the last couple of months. My main concern is whether this constant hotspot usage is wearing down my tablet's battery life faster than usual. I know that batteries naturally lose capacity over time, but I'm trying to figure out if being a hotspot makes that process even worse. I don't really use the tablet for anything else these days; it mostly just sits on my table, serving the occasional movie watching or note-taking. I started using it for hotspot when my Wi-Fi router broke a few months ago, so I find it handy for going out. Any tips on how to maintain battery health would also be super helpful!

Yeah, using your tablet as a hotspot definitely drains the battery faster than just regular use. Every time you charge it, you're putting it through a charge cycle, and that gradually reduces battery life. If you're constantly charging it because of the hotspot, it’s going to wear the battery down more quickly. Keeping it plugged in all the time can help if you're using it this way, but just remember that you should also let it charge unconnected occasionally to keep the battery healthy. It’s a balancing act!
So, is it actually better to leave it plugged in all the time rather than charge it repeatedly during the day?
