Experiencing Major FPS Drops in GTA V After Windows Update: Need Suggestions

Hey everyone, I'm in desperate need of some assistance. After my Windows update on Friday, I've noticed a huge drop in my PC's performance while playing GTA V RP. My FPS has plummeted from around 240 to just 80-23. Even in the menu, my GPU usage is maxed out at 90-100%, and at times, I'm unable to even take a screenshot.

Here's what I've done so far to troubleshoot:
- Reinstalled GTA V
- Reinstalled Windows
- Reset NVIDIA settings
- Scanned for malware, found nothing
- Checked temperatures — both CPU and GPU are under 60°C
- Made sure no background apps are hogging my GPU

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue, and even after a clean install, the problem remains. Here's some info on my specs:
- RTX 4060
- Ryzen 5 7500F
- DDR5 6000 MHz
- Windows 11 Pro

If anyone has any further ideas on what I can check, please let me know!

It sounds like the update may have impacted your system negatively. Try playing other games to see if the FPS drops occur there too. If you experience similar issues, then it definitely points to the update causing the problem. I had a bad experience with the Windows 11 24h2 version and ended up downgrading to 22h2. Windows updates can suddenly introduce problems, so it's a good idea to keep backups and wait for fixes before updating.

It could be related to your graphics card rather than the update itself. Any software-related issues might be fixed by doing a complete reinstall, but hardware problems are another story. Have you had a chance to test your graphics card in another computer?

No, I don't have that option available unfortunately. Just trying to make this one work!
