Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a crisis with my SSDs. I had an external SSD for school and some personal files that I've decided I no longer need. Recently, I got a new external SSD and started transferring the data. I tried to connect both SSDs to my computer, but since I can only use one at a time, I was doing a Cut & Paste transfer from the old one to the new one. It worked for the first two folders, but when I moved the third folder—which contains almost three years of academic work, photos, and videos—I noticed something was off. It seemed like all the files transferred properly, but when I checked the folder, they were gone! I panicked and reached out for help, and someone mentioned that files can sometimes get stuck in a sort of "limbo" during Cut & Paste. I've tried using recovery tools like CCleaner Recuva and 4DDiG, but I haven't had much luck. Does anyone know how I can recover these files?

Wait, so you’re suggesting not to mess with it anymore? That makes sense. If I stop trying to recover it myself, will it make it easier for pros? There's so much important stuff in there!
Try not to power on the SSD again if you're worried about the files being lost. Pull it out and send it to a professional recovery lab. DIY recovery attempts can make things worse, especially with SSDs that might overwrite data they think isn't needed after a while. Just remember, the sooner you act, the better your chances!
When dealing with SSDs, be very careful! If you've tried transferring files and they didn't appear, stop using the SSD immediately to avoid further damage. It's best to contact a professional data recovery service, especially for important files. They have the tools needed to recover data without causing additional issues. Also, always consider making backups before any major changes to your system.
Exactly! The less you do, the better. Professionals can do a lot if you let them handle it without any more interference.
