I'm building a new PC and looking for advice on choosing a CPU. I'm considering the RX 6800 XT graphics card for 1440p gaming, but I'm torn between the Ryzen 5 5600X and the Intel i5 13400F, as both are similarly priced where I live. I'm particularly interested in which of these CPUs would result in less bottlenecking of the 6800 XT. Any insights would be really appreciated!

The Intel i5 13400F is a solid choice, but keep in mind that if you want to pair it with a motherboard, it could raise your overall costs. Make sure to check out the prices for compatible motherboards first before making a decision!
Go with the Ryzen 5 5600X! For gaming, it generally outperforms Intel in this category. If you can spare the extra cash, consider upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which would work great at 1440p with the 6800 XT. I currently use a 5800X3D with a 6800 XT, and it runs so smoothly!
Yeah, but he wouldn't need to worry about finding older chips if the pricing is the same. Just something to think about!
While the 13400F is indeed quicker and offers a better upgrade path, it’s worth noting that you're looking at AM4, not AM5, so keep that in mind when you think about future upgrades.
