Hey everyone, I've got a big problem with my iPhone 13. Just yesterday, while I was in the shower, I got a message and tried to unlock my phone using Face ID, but it didn't recognize me. It prompted me for my passcode, which I know I've been using for a long time, and when I input it, it wouldn't work. I ended up locking myself out for 1 minute, then longer and longer until it said I needed to wait 5+ hours. I know for sure that nobody touched my phone, so I'm really worried. Could someone have changed my passcode or gained remote access? I also spoke to Apple, but I can't recover my iCloud because I forgot that password too. What can I do to get my phone back or secure it? I have important stuff on there, and I really need help from someone tech-savvy!

It sounds like you're in a tough spot. If you can’t remember your passcode, it’s going to be a bit tricky, as phone security has really ramped up to protect your data. Try not to panic just yet! You could have a hardware issue if your screen is acting up, which might mean you're accidentally entering the wrong digits. Since you mentioned you left it alone to avoid locking it further, maybe it’s worth seeing if you can back it up using a computer you’ve connected to before that doesn’t require the passcode. If it’s a display issue or something caused by water, you may need to look into repair options if things don’t work out. Good luck!
If all else fails and you can’t remember your iCloud details either, you might have to consider reaching out to Apple Support again. They might be able to help you with recovery options if you provide proof of purchase.
At this point, without your passcode or your iCloud account info, your phone is pretty much a paperweight. It’s a harsh lesson, but make sure next time you keep your details written down somewhere safe! Unfortunately, security measures can be really tough when you’re locked out.

Yeah, water damage could definitely mess with things—like if moisture got into the device while you were showering. Just make sure the screen is responding properly and try removing any broken screen protector, which you already did. Good job! Hopefully, you can get it sorted soon.
