Hey everyone, I'm building a new PC using a mix of old and new parts. I got a new CPU, PSU, and case, but the GPU, motherboard, and RAM are used. Here's the setup I have: a Gigabyte A520KM V2 motherboard, an R5 5500 CPU, 16GB of RAM, an RX 5600XT GPU, and a 550W PSU. When I first powered it on, I got an error about 'fTPM/PSP.' After pressing 'Y', the screen went black, and I couldn't even access the BIOS. I managed to install Windows 11 using a USB stick, and everything seemed to be running fine after I updated all the drivers. But when I turned the PC off for the night and tried starting it again the next day, it said Windows didn't start properly. Now it just goes to BIOS and doesn't recognize my M.2 SSD at all. I'm wondering if there's an issue with the SSD or maybe the motherboard since I bought it second-hand. I sent the SSD back to Amazon and ordered a new one, but I'd love to hear any thoughts on what might be going wrong!

Hey, good question! You can attempt the BIOS update even with the SSD plugged in, but it’s worth noting that if the motherboard isn’t recognizing the SSD, it might still be a problem. Make sure you follow the specific BIOS update steps for your model.
If the new SSD doesn’t fix the issue, it might be a faulty motherboard. Since you’ve got a second-hand one, replacing it could be a good move. Make sure to try updating the BIOS first, though. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues with new components.
