Hey everyone,
I just finished building my first PC, and while it powers on, there's no display on the monitor. I'm using a B650 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard and a 5070 Ti GPU. I noticed that two of my fans aren't lighting up even though they're spinning, so I think I might have messed up the daisy chaining. The GPU lights up, but the fans only spin for a second before stopping, though the light stays on, so I'm hoping it's working. The RAM has RGB that lights up, but I'm not sure if it's functioning. I even tried connecting a monitor using both HDMI and DisplayPort, and I plugged it into the motherboard directly too, but still nothing. Can anyone help? I'd love to figure this out after spending a long time on it!
Edit: Just to clarify, the PC turns on, but the monitor doesn't show anything. Thanks!

Have you made sure your monitor is turned on and set to the right input? If you connected it to the GPU, that’s where it should be plugged in. The motherboard input won't help if your CPU has no integrated graphics.
Fans without RGB probably aren’t an issue right now, so don’t worry about them. Also, the GPU seems to be operating normally if it’s in zero RPM mode. Make sure to check those small debug LEDs on the motherboard—those can give you clues about what's causing the problem. If the LEDs reflect something wrong, it might also help to let everything sit for about 15 minutes, which can sometimes solve memory training issues.
Got it, I’ll leave it on for a bit and check those LEDs. Thanks for the reassurance!
Remember, if the BIOS flash wasn’t done correctly, that could be an issue. It's usually better to update the BIOS directly rather than using the flashback button. Also, double-check your PSU cables, especially the EPS ones at the motherboard; a loose connection there could cause these problems. If all else fails, trying one stick of RAM could help identify the problem.
Thanks! I already reseated the RAM, but I could try reflashing BIOS again tomorrow. I’m just really hoping it’s not the PSU.
First off, great job on your first build! Just make sure everything is seated correctly. Check that your GPU is fully connected with the power cables. Also, the HDMI or DisplayPort needs to plug into the GPU, not the motherboard because it likely doesn’t have integrated graphics. You might want to reseat your RAM and clearing the CMOS could help reset BIOS settings.
I seated the RAM in slots 2 and 4 like recommended. I did everything right with the BIOS flash, but I’m going to do the CMOS reset too after giving it a bit of time.
Sounds like your motherboard might have some debug lights to help troubleshoot. Check your manual for the LED indicators; a red light usually means a CPU or RAM issue. And just because the RAM RGB is lit doesn’t mean it's working properly, so don’t rely on that. Also, the GPU behavior you’re seeing is normal; many modern GPUs have fans that don’t spin until they reach a certain temperature.
Thanks for the tip! I saw that the CPU and RAM lights are both on, so that might be the issue. I looked at my specs and I’m hoping it’s just a minor fix.
I think I'm using the right input. It’s a basic KTC monitor with just one power button, so I’m not sure how to check that.
