Hey everyone, I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with my new PC build. I upgraded almost everything except for the GPU, and now I'm facing constant Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors and random restarts while playing CS2. Even with Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) turned off, the crashes still happen. Under heavy CPU stress tests, I noticed my CPU hits around 90 degrees Celsius, but while gaming, it peaks at about 85 degrees for just a moment.
My goal is to achieve stable performance with at least 200+ FPS in CS2 and to make sure I can handle future titles at 1080p without issues. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
- RAM: Corsair 32GB kit DDR4 3600MT/s CL16
- GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- PSU: FSP Fortron HYDRO K PRO 750W ATX 3.0
- Storage: A mix of older HDDs and SSDs, with the main system on an M.2 drive and games also on an M.2.

If your BIOS is up to date, consider checking your cooling setup. Hitting 90 degrees under stress is quite high, so ensure your CPU cooler is properly installed and maybe look into better thermal paste if that hasn't been done.
Check your Event Viewer for more details on the BSOD crashes. It might give you clues about what’s causing the issue. Sometimes the error message can help pinpoint the problem.
Have you updated your BIOS? I had stability issues with my 5900X until I updated to the latest version. The early BIOS versions for Zen 3 CPUs can be pretty unstable.
