I forgot my Apple ID password, and my main iPhone was signed out. I'm now unable to sign in on three or four other iPhones, so they're effectively inactive. What's the safest way to recover the account and regain access to these devices?

Start Apple’s official account recovery process at iforgot.apple.com. Follow the verification steps carefully and provide a trusted phone number or device if prompted. Recovery may take some time, especially if too many incorrect attempts triggered a security review.
Apple’s recovery checks can be frustratingly slow. After several incorrect passcode attempts, my account went into a security review that was estimated to take up to 72 hours, and I was signed out of services like Messages and Apple TV while waiting. Once you regain access, set up an account recovery contact and confirm your trusted phone numbers so this is easier next time.

That’s helpful to know. I’ll wait for the recovery process to finish and configure a recovery contact afterward.
