I'm having trouble with my phone because the power button is broken, and sometimes my screen gets stuck. I usually wait for the battery to die, then turn it on using a volume up button and an OTG cable to access recovery mode. However, right now my battery is still over 90%, and the screen is stuck again. I'm looking for alternative ways to turn it off or possibly drain the battery more quickly. My phone is a Redmi Note 5 running Android 8 and MIUI 10, but since the screen is unresponsive, I can't use any apps. Any suggestions?

If you want to drain the battery faster, try turning on features like mobile data or Wi-Fi and leave the screen on, like playing a video on mute. You could also plug it into a charger without the power on; sometimes that can help it drain a bit quicker, but it’s not guaranteed.
It sounds really frustrating with that stuck screen! Since you’re using a Redmi Note 5, you might try holding the volume up and volume down buttons together for about 10-15 seconds. That can sometimes force a reboot even with a broken power button.
I’ve tried that before, and sometimes it works. Just make sure you’re pressing them long enough!

Just be careful with that! Overheating can be an issue if it’s stuck while charging.
