Hi everyone! My sister is on her writing journey using the free version of Office 365, but she's come across a problem that I can't help her with. She's faced with a sidebar on the right side of her screen that just won't go away, even when she tries to close it. She can't share a picture right now, but it's definitely not the comments section. It's affecting her view while she prefers to work in the double page display on full screen. Can anyone assist her with how to turn this sidebar off?

You might also want to check if it’s the Navigation Pane. If it is, you can toggle it off by going to the 'View' tab in the toolbar and unchecking 'Navigation Pane'. If that doesn’t work, you could try resetting the workspace by going to 'File' > 'Options', and finding something like 'Reset'. Let us know if any of this helps!

Thanks! I’ll let her know to try those options and see if they work.

It sounds like you might be dealing with one of the various toolbars in Word. It’s tough to help without seeing it, but usually, if you look at the top right of the toolbar, there should be an 'X' or a close button to dismiss it. If it's a floating pane, there might be options to hide it too. Also, check if it’s related to any features like 'Research' or 'Comments' that could be showing up. If you can get a screenshot, that would really help us narrow it down!

I agree! Knowing exactly what it says would make things easier. Sometimes those tools can be hidden in the view settings, too.
