How to Update BIOS for a CPU Upgrade?

I just bought a 7800x3d CPU and a new PSU, and I'm getting ready for the swap. I know how to take out the old chip and apply thermal paste, but I'm a bit nervous about updating my BIOS since I've never done it before. Do I need to follow any special steps for this update, or can I just update it as I normally would? Is there a specific version I should be aware of for my new CPU?

You’ll want to check your motherboard's CPU support list on the manufacturer's website to find out the minimum BIOS version that supports your new CPU. Generally, it's a good idea to just update to the latest version available to avoid any bugs. You can put the BIOS update file on a USB drive and use the BIOS utility to perform the update with your current CPU installed.

Make sure to look at the manufacturer's list of supported CPUs. Updating to the latest BIOS version is the safest route since it ensures your system is running optimally and has all the latest fixes. Just remember, the BIOS update applies to the motherboard itself, not just to specific CPUs. It's pretty straightforward!
