I currently have a Ryzen 5 3600, a 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM, 32GB of RAM installed across four sticks, and a Gigabyte A520M K V2 motherboard that only has two RAM slots. I have just enough money for a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but I'm unsure whether it makes sense to install that CPU on my budget motherboard. If I bought a new board, I was considering a B550 DS3H R2, which has four RAM slots and would let me expand my memory later. Should I buy the 5800X3D now, or choose a cheaper option and upgrade the motherboard too?

A Ryzen 5 5500X3D could be worth considering as a cheaper alternative, especially if the price difference is significant where you live. One response noted that it was only around €40 cheaper locally, so the savings may not be enough to make it the better choice.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D should still work properly in an A520 motherboard, so you don’t necessarily need to replace the board just to use that processor. Check that the BIOS supports it, but the motherboard itself won’t prevent the CPU from functioning as a 5800X3D.
