I'm planning to build a new PC with a budget of $1500, but I'm uncertain whether to go for the AM4 or AM5 platform. I'm especially interested in playing StarCraft at over 30 fps but worry about the price difference, particularly with the RAM and CPU costs on the AM5 side. Given that I'm not in the USA and won't have to deal with taxes, is it worth investing in AM5 for better performance and future upgrades?

If you're building a new PC now, just go straight for AM5. It’s the latest technology that will keep you competitive with future games and offers a meaningful upgrade path.
AM5 is definitely the way to go. You’ll have the option to upgrade to newer CPUs down the line, so you won’t feel like you wasted money like you might if you went with AM4 now.
I highly recommend AM5 for your budget. The upgrades available on AM5 will ensure your system remains relevant for years, while AM4 is basically at the end of its lifecycle.
Definitely go for AM5! Even the most basic AM5 CPUs outperform the top AM4 options for gaming, and you'll have a better upgrade path in the future. It just makes sense financially in the long run!
Thanks for the tip!
Pick AM5 for sure! You want the latest platform to ensure a solid upgrade path. If you choose AM4, you'll end up having to replace everything when you want to upgrade.
Focus on getting a solid GPU and pair it with a mid-range AM5 CPU. You have room to grow with newer architectures like Zen 6 or 7 without changing your motherboard. That’s the way to do it!
That's a good point!
