Is it okay for my cats to sleep on my new laptop?

I have six cats (I know that's a lot!) and they love to lay on my laptop when it's closed. My old laptop was pretty much a dinosaur, so I wasn't too worried about it. But I just got a new laptop and I'm concerned about whether it's safe for them to continue their habit of lounging on it. There haven't been any signs of damage yet, but I'm curious if this could be harmful in the long run. Should I let them keep doing it?

Why not save yourself the hassle and just buy a heating pad? That way, they can enjoy the warmth without risking your laptop. It's especially important now with all the thin designs!

Honestly, if it's off, it might be okay! They love the warmth. Just be cautious and don't let them lay on it when it's running. Maybe try a heated blanket to keep them comfy and off your laptop.

Good idea! I'll have to get one of those for them.

It's generally not a great idea to let your cats sleep on your laptop. They could shed hair, which might get caught in the fans and mess with the laptop's performance over time. Plus, if they get too warm, they might try to cool off by knocking stuff over or even peeing on it!

Yeah, I hadn't thought about their hair causing problems. My old one was fine, but now I'm a bit worried!
