Is it safe to use a daisy chain PCIe cable for my 7800 XT?

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question about my setup. I'm using a 7800 XT and I'm considering a daisy chain or pigtail PCIe cable. It's an 8-pin (6+2) cable that splits into two PCIe outputs, and I'm using it with my MSI MAG A750GL power supply. I'm not entirely sure how this works, and I'm worried because my GPU has been crashing to a black screen during high-load games.

Is it safe to just plug in one of those outputs and leave the other one unused, while also connecting another separate 8-pin PCIe cable to the GPU? So it'd be like this:

1x 8-pin PCIe cable

1x 8-pin (2-output) PCIe cable, using only 1 output.

Yeah, it's completely fine to leave the unused connector hanging on that daisy chain cable. Just make sure you securely attach the cable you are using to avoid any issues. It shouldn't cause your GPU crashes, but let’s hope it helps stabilize your setup!

Thanks! Do you think the cabling could be causing the black screens? I get around 300w on HWMonitor.
