Hey everyone! I have this 10000mAh battery pack from B&M that I've dropped a few times. Recently, when I dropped it again, it started to bulge. It's been completely drained and left unused for a while, but I'm thinking about using it again. Is it safe to do so? I've used it after noticing the bulge, but I'm really worried it might blow up. Am I overreacting or should I be concerned?

Nope, definitely not safe. There’s a strong chance it could explode once you try charging it again. It's just not worth playing around with a battery that could malfunction and damage your devices.

Look, you’re not being silly at all. The general guideline is if you're in doubt, throw it out properly. Sure, you might be able to use it for a bit, but I wouldn’t risk it. I’ve used a slightly bulging laptop battery for testing, but only under strict supervision. Just keep it contained and don't push it to charge too much to be extra cautious.

Honestly, just get a new one. They’re not that expensive and it’s not worth the risk of something happening to you or your stuff.

I recommend putting it somewhere safe, like a metal box, just in case. However, I’ve heard that a metal box might not help much if it really goes up in flames. Better yet, consider checking it out internally or just tossing it safely. The risk isn't worth it!

I've seen fire-resistant safes do a decent job, but they’re not foolproof. It's just a good idea to be cautious with these things.

True, metal boxes might not save you from a meltdown. It’s better to just dispose of it properly and avoid a potential disaster.

It’s really risky to continue using a swollen battery. You should definitely check out some examples from others who have had similar issues. It's better to be safe than sorry!
