I inherited a Dell PowerEdge R540 and I'm unsure about its age, but it functions well. I was considering implementing the Veeam Hardened Repository ISO on it, adding some large (3.5") disks to create about 70TB of storage and increasing the RAM. I'm curious if putting in this effort is worthwhile for me. What do you guys think?

The PowerEdge R540 still has a lot of potential! It may not be the latest model, but for home labs or small business setups, it can work great. Just ensure you're using it in a non-critical environment since it might not be ideal for production workloads.
