Hey folks! I just got my RTX 5070 Ti and started testing it with games like CS2 and Warzone. In CS2, particularly in an aim training map called "Aimbot," my GPU usage is around 80% while my CPU usage stays at about 60%. In Warzone, the GPU sometimes spikes to 95-99% in certain spots. I'm running both games at 1440p and haven't messed with the Nvidia settings much yet. So, I'm curious: is my Ryzen 5 7500F a bottleneck here? Would switching to a different CPU improve the GPU's performance? Thanks for your help!

Yes, upgrading to a higher-end CPU like the 7800X3D or 9800X3D would likely result in near 100% GPU utilization. In fact, even with a Ryzen 7600, there can be a bottleneck at 1440p, especially with a faster card like the 5070 Ti. However, CS2 doesn’t show massive differences, maybe going from 400fps to 500fps, so it’s mostly in Warzone that you'd feel the pinch.
At 1440p, I doubt you’d see much difference; your CPU likely won’t hold you back significantly.
In competitive games, the CPU often becomes the limiting factor because you're running lower graphics settings to boost fps, which can create an artificial CPU bottleneck. Ultimately, it comes down to whether this affects your gameplay experience or not.
Well, games like CS2 aren't super demanding on the GPU, so having a higher-end GPU can lead to CPU bottlenecks. I wouldn't worry too much about it, as it’s not the best way to measure performance.
No, if your CPU was truly bottlenecking, you’d see higher CPU usage and lower GPU usage. The GPU can be under 90% while still being limited by the CPU, so don't stress too much about it right now.
I've seen a video where someone compared the 5070 Ti with the 9800X3D and it got way more fps, so I started thinking my CPU might be limiting me too. I wonder if that missing 3D cache and lower GHz is the issue.
That's a misconception. The GPU can be under 90% and still be bottlenecked by the CPU, even if CPU usage is low; it just means one core could be maxed out.
I noticed the same thing, hitting 300-400fps on Aimbot but only around 240-300fps in-game. In Warzone, it dips to around 160fps. I'm considering an upgrade to the 9800X3D but might wait until the AM5 platform gets cheaper.
