A friend is putting together a new PC and is considering whether to go for the 4080 Super or save $500 by opting for the 5070 Ti. They mentioned that since both cards are quite similar, the 5070 Ti might not only be the more affordable choice but also the more future-proof option. I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this! Also, is it wise to purchase a 9800X3D given all the current reports about potential failures?

The 5070 Ti is honestly a stronger GPU. It’s bewildering anyone would consider the 4080 Super in this scenario. Why spend more for something that’s practically already outperformed?
But 80 > 70, right? Just saying!
