I'm looking to upgrade from my Ryzen 7500F CPU because it's just not cutting it anymore—it really struggles with some of my favorite 1440p games like Kingdom Come 2, Stalker 2, and Starfield. My GPU, a 5070Ti, is even dropping below 50% usage at times, while my CPU is maxed out at 80-95%. I originally considered upgrading to a Ryzen 7700 or 9700 since they've dropped in price, but I think I really need an x3D model to handle the CPU bottlenecks.
Now I'm debating between the 7600X3D and the 7800X3D, but the 7600X3D feels a bit overpriced—it's only about $50-70 cheaper than the 7800X3D. Then I heard AMD will be releasing the 9600X3D. Do you think it can compete with the 7800X3D and 7600X3D? What price would make it worthwhile? I'm worried AMD might price it too high, like over $300, which would really be disappointing.

If competitive gaming isn’t your focus, a 9700X would serve you well for years without any issues. I've used both the 9700X and the 7600X3D in various builds, and they hold up nicely.
Any x3D chip is generally awesome, just the best in terms of performance. Can't go wrong with it!
Honestly, you can snag a 7800X3D for around $300 right now. I'd recommend jumping on that while you can; we don't know how long it’ll stay at that price.
I’m also using a Ryzen 5 7500F and I'm super excited about the 9600X3D! I really think it’s going to be a great fit for gaming. 🎮
Totally agree! It really comes down to pricing though. If it lands around $249 or $269, it's a great deal. Over $299, and I’d probably just grab a secondhand 7800X3D instead—those extra cores might justify the price difference.
Definitely worth considering! I'd recommend waiting a couple of weeks after the release to see how it fares in terms of value.
That's tricky! In euros, it's looking closer to €390 (about $430 USD) where I am. A secondhand one might be like €350, but still not as cheap as I’d like.
