Is there any legitimate way to speed up Apple Account Recovery?

I'm locked out of my Apple Account and started the automated recovery process through Apple's account recovery website. The confirmation said I would receive instructions on September 22 at 9:31 a.m. PDT through my trusted phone number, making the total wait about seven days. The status page still shows several days remaining. I understand the delay is meant to prevent unauthorized account takeovers, but being unable to access purchases, subscriptions, and other Apple services for more than a week is frustrating. Apple Support and retail employees apparently cannot override the recovery timer, and repeatedly submitting requests or attempting to sign in may reset or extend the wait. Has anyone found a legitimate way to provide additional identity verification and shorten the countdown, or is waiting until the recovery period ends the only option? I'd also appreciate advice from anyone who completed the entire recovery process.

Unless you selected an option saying you no longer had access to a trusted method and now have access to it again, there usually isnโ€™t any additional proof you can submit to speed things up. There are occasional anecdotes about the device, location, or network used during recovery affecting the estimate, but thatโ€™s unconfirmed and could potentially reset the request. I wouldnโ€™t risk starting over unless Appleโ€™s instructions tell you to.

There doesnโ€™t appear to be a way to shorten it. The recovery page specifically says that Apple Support canโ€™t reduce the waiting period, so if an expedited option existed, it would normally be shown there. The safest move is to leave the request alone and wait for the stated time to pass.

The text message or phone call isnโ€™t necessarily the only way to continue. Once the waiting period has ended, you can return to Appleโ€™s account recovery website and follow the instructions there to regain access. Until then, repeatedly trying to start recovery again is more likely to make things worse than help.

MellowPine47: Thatโ€™s useful to know. I was assuming I had to wait specifically for the message, so Iโ€™ll check the recovery page again once the countdown finishes.
