I'm thinking about upgrading to AM5 and getting a 7800X3D processor. Right now, I have a 15-12400F CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz, and a 3070 Ti GPU. I'd like to keep my GPU but I've found that upgrading to AM5 with the 7800X3D and 16GB of DDR5 RAM would cost me around £600. If I sell my current parts, I'm hoping to get back about £300. Do you think this upgrade is a good investment?

Honestly, you might want to consider sticking with your current platform. If you just need a CPU performance boost, you can upgrade to a 12th or 13th Gen Intel chip without changing your whole setup—just a BIOS update might be needed. It could save you a lot of hassle and money!

That sounds promising, but I heard my current motherboard (Gigabyte H610M) isn’t great for higher-end CPUs like the i7-14700. Is that true?
