I'm searching for an application that can pin album art, song titles, and other metadata directly onto my desktop without it appearing above other applications. Ideally, it would also have a visualizer feature when I'm playing music. I tried using a program from GitHub called Monochrome, but I can't seem to get Conky to work properly, which has been really frustrating for me. I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 with the Cinnamon desktop environment, and I'm really looking for something that functions like a desklet or desktop widget.

It's great that you're specifying the desktop environment! Since you’re using Cinnamon, you might want to check out the Strawberry music player. While it may not deliver exactly what you’re after, it does have notifications for currently playing tracks. But note, it might not display album art as that's not something I typically use it for.
I feel your pain with Conky! Setting it up can be a real headache sometimes. If you’re still looking for desktop presence, you might want to explore other widget applications that are designed specifically for your desktop environment. They might offer the permanent display that you need.
Yeah, just a heads-up about the desktop environment! If you’re looking for something that sticks on the desktop rather than just popping up as a notification, Strawberry might not be the best fit. There are various desktop widgets out there that could fit your needs better.
