Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my current Alienware R8 and want to give building my own PC a shot for the first time. I've put together a parts list, but since I'm not super experienced with compatibility issues, I would really appreciate any feedback or suggestions for better components. Here's what I've got so far:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - Ryzen 7 9000 Series Zen 5 8-Core 5.2 GHz
- **RAM:** CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000
- **Motherboard:** MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI AM5 AMD X870 ATX
- **Graphics Card:** ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC 12GB 192-Bit
- **Power Supply:** MSI - MAG A750GL PCIE5, 80+ GOLD Fully Modular Gaming PSU 750W
- **Storage:** Team Group CX2 2.5" 2TB SATA III 3D TLC Internal SSD

I'm based in the US with a budget of around $2000, and I'm hoping to hit around 160 FPS with my current monitor. Any advice would be awesome!

First off, what's your exact budget and which country are you in? That'll help narrow down some great options. Also, what's your target FPS and resolution? Knowing that makes a big difference!

I'm in the US and my budget is $2K, but I can go a bit over if needed. I want to target around 160 FPS with my monitor.

Check out this list I put together for you on PCPartPicker. I swapped in some better components while maintaining a reasonable price.

- **CPU:** Ryzen 7 9700X
- **Motherboard:** MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX
- **Storage:** Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD
- **GPU:** ASRock Challenger RX 9070

This setup is powerful but doesn’t break the bank, staying under $1700!

I’d recommend considering either the Ryzen 7800X3D or even a 7600X for a better balance. For your GPU, you might want to look at the RX 5070 Ti or 9070 XT instead. Plus, your motherboard might be a bit overboard for your needs, and definitely opt for an NVMe SSD for faster loading times!

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t even know what NVMe meant before! I'll definitely look into those options.

A heads up: your motherboard seems a bit much for typical gaming setups. Also, the PSU you picked is known to be pretty noisy, so you might want to explore quieter options. An M.2 SSD will also give you way better speeds compared to SATA drives, so that’s a solid upgrade!
