I'm searching for a solid AM5 motherboard upgrade from my current B650 setup. I've got a 5070ti right now and I'm planning to get a 5080super when it launches, or possibly a 5090 by New Year's if that doesn't work out. I really want a motherboard that has at least two slots for SSDs. I don't have a tight budget yet, but please steer clear of any options that go above $750 or $1000. Appreciate any help you can offer!

What’s not working with your B650? There’s gotta be a reason you want to switch it up!
Nothing’s wrong with it, really. It works fine with my 5070ti, but I want more than one NVMe SSD slot. I’ve also heard that better motherboards with more PCIe lanes are a good idea for high-end GPUs to make them perform at their best. I'm still new to all this, though!
The X670E Edge TI is fantastic! Frequently on sale for just over $300, it offers amazing connectivity and you get 4 m.2 slots—2 are Gen 5! Plus, no overlap between m.2 and PCIe slots, which is a huge plus.
I’ve had a great experience with the MSI B850 Tomahawk; it’s only about $220. You might want to check it out!
I’d recommend checking out the Gigabyte B850 Eagle or the MSI MAG X670E. If you’ve got a basic B650, the Asus TUF Gaming B650E (which comes with PCIe Gen 5) is also a solid choice; or you could look into an Asus B850.
Is there a big difference in performance with PCIe Gen 5 compared to what’s on my B650? I’m still learning about these things.
Honestly, some think they’re missing out on PCIe 5 for graphics; they might be wrong, though!
