I'm a first-time iPhone user and recently bought a used iPhone 15. I was enjoying it, but after about 7 hours of setting up my Apple account, I received a notification saying I needed to verify it. I entered my password, but it didn't work. When I logged into the website, I found out my account was locked and I could recover it if I waited for an email, but that email never arrived. Now, my Apple account shows as locked, and I can't even create a new one to switch accounts. Does anyone have advice on what I can do?

I had a similar experience where my Apple ID got locked right after I set it up. I couldn't verify or sign out either, and it even led to an Activation Lock on my iPad! What worked for me was reaching out directly to Apple Support with proof of my purchase. They can help with these issues faster than just trying to go through recovery options.

So I should definitely contact them? I have the proof too, just got a bit worried about the used phone situation.
