My CPU is overheating — what should I check?

I recently built my first PC, and everything seems to be working well except for one big issue: my CPU temperature is hitting 104C in the BIOS! That's boiling point for water. I have an AIO cooler set up, but it doesn't seem to be doing its job. I'm using an ASUS motherboard. Any tips on how to lower my CPU temperature?

First off, double-check that your cooler is seated properly on the CPU. Sometimes people forget to remove the protective plastic cover, which could definitely cause overheating. Just a quick look can save you a lot of trouble!

Also, ensure that your AIO is connected to the correct header on the motherboard. You want it going directly to the CPU fan header, not an RGB controller. If it isn't, plug it in there for better cooling control. If all those connections are right, it might be worth examining whether the radiator connection is set up correctly since you mentioned you connected it to a 3-pin instead of a 4-pin. That could lead to issues and even noise problems.

I did connect it where it should go, but I'm worried the radiator might be causing problems since it’s a three-pin. It makes some loud noises too.

Have you made sure to peel off the protective foil from the AIO? It's a common oversight, but it’s crucial for effective heat transfer. If that's covered, it won't do its job!
