Hey everyone! I used my laptop last night and put it to sleep after fully charging it to 100%. But when I turned it on today, it was completely dead. After a Windows update, I noticed the battery just isn't charging past 3% even after hours of being plugged in. I ran a battery report, and it shows that my battery dropped from 100% to 31% in an hour with no use, and then down to 3% afterward. I even tried uninstalling the battery and charger from the device manager, but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

What kind of laptop do you have? If it's a Dell, you can check the BIOS/EFI settings to see if it recognizes the charger properly. If it doesn't, the battery won't charge. Also, check what your battery report says about its design capacity, as that helps diagnose the issue. Lastly, try turning your laptop off completely for a few hours and see if that helps charge it up a bit. Sometimes, water damage can cause issues like this too.
Your battery might be dead, especially if there are blocks with faulty cells. If some cells are bad, the charger can't properly detect or charge the battery.
Hey! What’s your laptop model? If you've had it for a while, especially if it’s second-hand, just check if this is the original battery or if it was replaced. Knowing the history can help narrow down the issue. Also, how long ago did you replace the battery?
