My PC Won’t Turn On After a Sudden Shutdown – Need Help!

I was in the middle of a Tekken 8 game with a friend when my PC suddenly shut down like there was a power outage. When I tried to turn it back on, it would shut off almost immediately. I decided to clean my PC since there was a lot of dust in the CPU fan and I reapplied thermal paste. Now, when I plug it in, the PC won't turn on at all. I've checked all the cables, and they seem fine. I noticed that the motherboard LED flickers once, but before that, I heard a click from the PSU that seems to have stopped after several attempts to power it on. I'm not sure if this is a PSU issue or a motherboard issue. I could really use some advice. Here are my specs: Motherboard - Aorus BM550, PSU - Corsair RM750, GPU - GeForce RTX 3070 (2x Ventus), CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD.

If you're using a CPU cooler like Coolermaster, it might just be the cooling not functioning well. The fact that it shut off under load suggests overheating, but since you've cleaned it, it’s odd that it won't even start now. Make sure all the connections for the cooler are secure and try reseating your RAM as well. Sometimes a loose connection can lead to issues like this.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your PSU, especially since you heard that click. If the motherboard LED is only flickering and nothing else happens, it could indicate that it’s not getting enough power. You might want to try a different power outlet or check if any other components are failing. Also, did you try testing the PSU with the paperclip method? It’s a bit of a hassle, but it could give you a clearer picture of whether the PSU is the culprit.
