My Pixel 8 Pro has started playing an azaan sound at random times, even when I’m not using video or audio apps. This has been happening for several days. What should I check to find the source and stop it?
My Pixel keeps playing an azaan sound at random. Any ideas?

Start with the built-in sound sources before assuming anything malicious. Check alarms, timers, calendar reminders, and notification history around the time it happens. Also look at recently installed or updated apps, including apps that can send alerts or play audio in the background.

When it plays, open the notification shade and see whether anything is active. Then review apps with notification access or permission to display over other apps, and uninstall anything unfamiliar that you didn’t choose to install. Don’t delete system apps just because their names or icons look odd. If you find a likely app, remove it and see whether the sound stops.

Could someone else have set an alarm or changed a setting on the phone? Check the Clock app carefully, including alarm labels and schedules, and review any routines or automation features you use. A scheduled alert can seem random if its timing or repeat settings are easy to miss.

Try safe mode for a while. If the sound stops there, a downloaded app is a stronger suspect. If it still happens, check the phone’s system settings and update status, then consider contacting device support. A factory reset is a last resort, not the first step. Back up important data before doing one, and only restore apps you trust.

I’ll check notification history and alarms next time it happens, since it’s hard to catch where the sound is coming from.
