Need Help Upgrading RAM in My Acer Predator Helios 300

I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in my Acer Predator Helios 300. I currently have two 8GB sticks installed, and I want to swap them for two 16GB sticks. The issue is when I install both new 16GB sticks, the laptop powers on, but I just get a black screen. However, if I use one of the new 16GB sticks along with one of the old 8GB sticks, it boots up fine and recognizes 24GB of RAM. According to the specs, my motherboard (g3-571) should support 32GB. Is there something I'm missing? I'm using A-Tech RAM sticks that are compatible with my laptop.

You might want to ensure that both new sticks are the same model and specifications. Mixing different types or speeds sometimes causes compatibility issues, even if they are both 16GB. Also, try resetting your laptop's BIOS to see if that helps recognize the new RAM setup when both sticks are in.

Good point! That could definitely affect performance, and any BIOS updates can sometimes help with hardware compatibility too.

It sounds like there could be a few things going on. First, check for dust or debris in the RAM slots; sometimes that can cause connection issues. Make sure both new RAM sticks are seated properly as well. It's also possible one of the new sticks might be faulty, so you could test them individually to see if one of them is the problem. Lastly, even though it seems like your motherboard should support 32GB, double-check the compatibility just to be safe.

Yeah, it makes sense to test each stick separately. If one of them works fine alone but the other doesn't, you might need to get it replaced.
