NVIDIA App Still Says No Driver Installed After a Successful Installation

I installed GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.92, and the installer reported that the installation completed successfully. It also listed both the Graphics Driver and HD Audio Driver as installed. However, the NVIDIA App still displays "No driver installed," and Device Manager continues to show the previous NVIDIA driver version. I've tried installing the driver both with the standalone installer and through the NVIDIA App, including several reinstall attempts. I also tried removing the driver through Device Manager and reinstalling it manually, as well as using the installer's clean-install option. Fast Boot was disabled and I restarted the computer, but nothing changed. I mainly want the app to recognize the existing driver so I can access and adjust NVIDIA settings. What else could be causing this, and what should I try next?

Try disabling Fast Startup, perform a clean driver installation, and fully restart the computer rather than shutting it down and powering it back on. If the app still reports no driver afterward, the issue is probably not just the NVIDIA App cacheโ€”the installation may be failing to replace the active driver, so a complete cleanup with DDU is the next step.

MellowCedar42: I followed those steps, including disabling Fast Startup and restarting, but the problem remains.

A more thorough cleanup may be needed. Use Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove the currently detected NVIDIA display driver and its leftover components, then restart and install the correct driver directly from NVIDIA using the clean-install option. Device Manager should be checked afterward to confirm that the new version is actually active.

MellowCedar42: I already removed the driver through Device Manager and tried a manual reinstall, but the old version still appears and the NVIDIA App still doesnโ€™t detect the driver.
