Old iPhone Still Shows Up in Find My After Trade-In – What Should I Do?

I traded in my old iPhone for the new iPhone Air on launch day, but when I checked Find My after leaving the store, I saw that my old iPhone still shows up there. It says it's 'ready for repair or trade-in', but I can see its location, which is a bit unsettling. My mom, who was with me, doesn't have her old iPhone showing up in her Find My app. I've started the process of erasing it remotely, but I'm not sure if that's enough. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'd appreciate any advice on how to handle this situation!

You might want to head back to the store and confirm what happened. If they didn’t properly erase it, you need to make sure you mark it as lost, just in case.
