Hey everyone, I need some advice. My PC has been running fine for a few years, but during a recent power outage while I was playing, I noticed something strange. When the power came back on, my PC seemed to turn on, but none of my USB devices, like my keyboard, mouse, or monitor, are working. Normally, my tower lights up in different colors, but now it just stays a static blue. I've tried switching outlets, unplugging everything (including the power strip), and even using a different keyboard, but nothing seems to work. The only thing still getting power is a mini fan I have on my desk. Unfortunately, I can't afford a ride to a repair shop right now. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

Sorry to hear about your troubles! It’s possible that your motherboard got fried due to a voltage spike. If that’s the case, you might need to look into getting a new motherboard since it sounds like your power strip didn't provide the protection you needed.
Power surges during outages can damage various PC components, not just the power supply. Along with the power supply, your motherboard, RAM, or even CPU might be compromised too.
It sounds like your power supply may have been damaged during the outage. Try removing the power for a bit and also take out the CMOS battery for a few minutes; that might help reset things.
Thanks for the tip! What is a CMOS battery? I unplugged everything for a minute, but it didn't change anything.
So if that might be true, I should just plan on replacing the motherboard?
