Questions About Changing My Apple ID Region for Music

Hey everyone! I'm considering changing the region of my Apple ID to get updates from my favorite artists on Apple Music. I have a couple of questions: First, if I change the region, will I lose my playlists and everything in iCloud music, or just the downloads on my device? Second, once I change the region, will I still receive updates for the apps I downloaded with my previous account? Thanks for any help!

Here's a little trick: you can maintain two Apple accounts. Keep one account for your main region where all your data is backed up and another one for switching regions. In the Media Purchase settings, you can log in with the account from a different region, which allows you to download apps tied to that account. It's a bit complicated, but it works! I manage to use my US account while my main one is set to Ireland.

That’s clever! But what happens to my Apple Music library if I switch like that?

When you change your Apple ID region, you'll need to unsubscribe from Apple Music. This means you'll lose access to all your DRM-protected downloaded music and playlists. So, be careful if you have a lot saved! Also, if any apps aren’t available in your new region, you won’t be able to update those either.
