Hey everyone! I'm setting up my first rig and am looking to make use of my motherboard's two Gen 5 M.2 x4 slots, despite knowing that the performance gain might not be fully justified right now. I'm focusing on 4K video editing, so I want to make sure I have good storage. My motherboard is the MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi, and here's the breakdown of my M.2 slots: two Gen 5 x4 128 Gb/s, one Gen 4 x4 64 Gb/s, and one Gen 4 x2 32 Gb/s. I'm thinking about getting a 1TB SSD for my operating system and a 2TB SSD for my game files and other data. I've come across the PNY CS2150 2TB M.2 NVMe, but I'm a bit hesitant because I've heard mixed things about PNY's reputation. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to explore WD's Black SN850X as well. It’s great for high-speed tasks like video editing and gaming, and it's known for its durability. Ensure you pair it with a good heatsink to manage temperatures, especially during intensive tasks!
Are you looking for suggestions on motherboards or specific SSDs? If it's SSDs, let me help you out with that! You’ve got a solid setup with Gen 5 slots, which is great for future-proofing your build. Plus, with 4K editing in mind, I’d recommend going for NVMe drives. They’ll really amp up performance for your workloads!
Check out the latest models from Samsung, like the 980 Pro or 990 Pro. They perform excellently for editing tasks and have a solid reputation. Also, if you're wary of the PNY brand, these could be a better fit for your needs! Samsung's drives have been reliable for a long time.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely consider Samsung.
Yeah, I'm just after SSD suggestions!
