Hey everyone! I have a bit of a dilemma and I hope someone can help me out. I recently bought an expensive software ($8k) for my business, but I didn't want to pay the yearly support fee to transfer it from my old Surface Pro 9 to my new HP OmniDesk. Now, I'm stuck with the Surface, which tends to crash frequently, and I really don't want to keep disconnecting my monitors, mouse, and keyboard every time I need to use this program.
Is there a way to connect the Surface to the OmniDesk so I can run both computers simultaneously, similar to having multiple tabs open on a web browser? That way, I could keep working on the OmniDesk while using the program on my larger monitors, hopefully preventing the Surface from crashing.
Alternatively, I've been considering using a remote desktop application like TeamViewer or AnyViewer. Sadly, I don't have Windows Pro, so the regular Remote Desktop option is off the table for me. If remote solutions aren't the way to go, I'm prepared to deal with the hassle of unplugging everything when I need to access the program, but that sounds really annoying!

Unfortunately, just plugging the Surface into your new PC won't allow you to run programs from it. But you could definitely use those remote desktop programs you mentioned, like TeamViewer. Another option to think about is a KVM switch, which lets you connect both PCs to your monitors and peripherals, making it easy to switch between them without changing a bunch of cables.
Thanks for the tip! I had no clue KVM switches existed; I'll give that a shot if the remote desktop doesn't work out.
