Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on whether I should go ahead and buy the RTX 5080. I've been upgrading my build, but I'm still rocking my old Asus GTX 1080 TI ROG. I was hoping to wait for the Creator (ProArt) version to come out so everything matches, but it seems like that might be a long wait for something that could end up being outdated before it even launches. The RTX 5080's already been out for six months, and I worry that by the time the ProArt arrives, its price will be too high to justify. I'm also considering waiting for the Super version mainly for the extra VRAM, but I'm concerned that it could be even pricier and there will be those usual supply issues. I mainly use my PC for everyday tasks and occasionally play games like Red Alert 2 and Space Marine 2 on a 4K 120Hz monitor. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading my long post.

I upgrade every other series, no fancy models for me. I just grab the 80 series after it's been on the market for a bit. But hey, I game to enjoy, not to stress over FPS!
Honestly, if you’re just playing those games casually, the RTX 5080 should hold up just fine for a while. It’s not like you're trying to run super demanding titles, right? So, if you need it now, I say go for it!
I think you're better off waiting. The RTX 5080 is pretty pricey right now at around $1300 and only offers about 10% more performance than a 5070 Ti. If you’re looking to spend wisely, maybe aim for the 5070 Ti, unless ray tracing and DLSS are a must for you. Just a thought!
Thanks for the tip! The 5070 Ti does seem appealing.
Also, the 5080 does have good overclocking potential, getting close to the 4090's stock performance.
That's true! But I'm leaning towards the Asus Prime since it fits my case better. Plus, finding the Nvidia design at MSRP is nearly impossible!
