I currently have a Samsung 980 as my boot drive and an 860 EVO as an extra drive. I'm looking to upgrade my boot drive because 2TB isn't cutting it for me anymore. My MSI B850 Tomahawk motherboard supports Gen 5. The 1TB 9100 Pro is just $50 more than the 990 Pro at Best Buy. I mainly use my PC for gaming and occasional After Effects editing, so I probably won't fully utilize the 9100. However, since it's only a bit more expensive, I'm leaning towards it. Is there anything I should consider about the 9100 or 990 before I make my purchase?

Honestly, the 980 Pro is already pricey. Why spend even more unless it's absolutely necessary? You might want to consider a 2TB MP44 or SN5000 instead, which could be better value for your money.
Just curious, what prices are you looking at? If you're not stuck on Best Buy, you might find better deals elsewhere!
If you're doing some editing work, I’d suggest going for the 9100 Pro. The speed improvements can really help with that, plus it's only $50 more. Definitely worth it!
I usually stick to Best Buy for electronics, and they currently have discounts on both the 9100 and 990 Pro.
