I had my iPhone 11 stolen last week, and before it was taken, I turned off both Wi-Fi and mobile data. I've already activated lost mode and sent an erase command, which will only go through once the device connects to the internet. Given these circumstances, should I now unlink my iCloud from the phone? I'm worried that the thief might break through the 4-digit lock. I don't really care about the phone itself, but I'm anxious about my personal data, like pictures and sensitive files, being accessed since it's still linked to my iCloud. Any advice?

It's best to leave the phone linked to your account in lost mode with the erase command still active. If the phone connects to the internet, it will erase everything. Unlinking it could allow the thief to resell it after it's been wiped. Keeping it linked effectively makes it useless for them, which is the goal here!

Better not give them the satisfaction, I guess.
