Should I Upgrade My Processor Now or Wait a Couple of Years?

I'm currently running an Intel i5 13400F with a 4070 GPU and 32GB of RAM, plus a 240mm cooler. Since this was my first PC build and I went with a budget CPU, I'm starting to wonder if I should upgrade to something better now. I'm a bit stressed about needing a new motherboard and possibly a new cooling system as well. On the other hand, I can afford to wait and save up enough to get a better CPU and cooler next year. Will my current setup handle gaming fine, or should I go for the upgrade sooner?

How's your gaming experience with your current setup? If you're not facing major issues, maybe hold off on the upgrade. If you see discounts on better CPUs, it might be worth considering, but only if you feel it's necessary for your play style.

Sometimes I notice some lag, but it usually clears up quickly. It mainly happens after a few hours of gaming.

You shouldn't need to worry about changing your motherboard since the 13th Gen Intel CPUs use the same LGA 1700 socket as the previous generations. So if you decide to upgrade to a better processor like the 13700K or 14700K, you can still use your current cooler too!
