Should I Upgrade to AMD and Go for an X3D CPU for Competitive Gaming?

I'm currently using an Intel i5-10100F and I'm thinking about making the switch to AMD. I'm considering the Ryzen 5 9600X or the Ryzen 7 9700X, but I'm curious about the X3D versions and how they actually perform in competitive gaming. Are these X3D CPUs really worth the extra cost of around $200? Additionally, I have 16GB of G.Skill DDR4 3200 CL16 RAM. Would it be smart to go with the AM4 platform so I can keep using my existing RAM instead of upgrading to a new one?

If you're sticking to a budget, I’d recommend the 9600X or 9700X. The X3D is impressive but not a must-have for competitive gaming. It ultimately depends on your needs – if you simply want a solid machine for competitive games, either choice will serve you just fine.

True, but for now, I’m on a 75Hz monitor anyway. Once I upgrade to something like 300Hz, I’d be happy with any decent setup. Just trying to understand the benefits of the X3D, especially regarding latency.

But, the X3D is pretty crucial for improving 1% lows in games like CS2 and Valorant! Just check out some benchmarks online to get a better idea.
