Struggling to Choose the Right GPU for My PC Upgrade

I'm planning to upgrade my PC soon and need some advice on choosing the right GPU. Here are my current specs: I have an i7-10700F CPU, 16GB of Kingston RAM, an MSI 1650 GPU, and a 400W PSU. I'm also upgrading my PSU to 550W and adding another 16GB of RAM, with a speed of 2133 MHz. My budget for the GPU is $330. Any recommendations?

Why stop at 550W? A 750W PSU isn’t that much more and would give you more headroom.

There’s really no ‘perfect’ GPU out there. Just get the best one for your budget—that's the most important part!

You could grab a 5060 Ti or a 9060 XT if you want to stick to your budget, or look for a used 3060 Ti until you can afford something better and more future-proof.

If you’re not planning to upgrade anything else, I’d recommend getting a used 3060. You should be able to find it for under $200. With any leftover cash, think about upgrading to faster RAM, like something over 3000 MHz with a low CAS latency. That’ll help with performance too!

Is the 3060 really a solid choice? What about the 7600 XT?

Good luck finding decent RAM at a reasonable price these days!

Honestly, I’m curious why you’re making such minimal upgrades. I suggest investing a bit more into at least a 700W PSU and grabbing 2x16GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. Then you can save up for a better GPU and just wait for prices to drop.

I might sell my current GPU and save up for RAM and the PSU since both are pretty affordable in my area. I’d like to buy the GPU from the US.

Just upgrade the GPU to a 3060 and use it for a couple of years.

Going used? An RTX 3080 would be awesome! Just make sure you have a quality PSU, as it needs around 340W and your 550W will be close to the limit.

Yeah, pushing a 550W PSU to handle that? You better ensure it’s really reliable!

Make sure your motherboard supports Resizable BAR. If it does, the Arc B570 is a good deal right now at around $200.

For an i7-10700F, I’d look into the 3060, RX 6700/6700XT/6750XT, or the 9060 XT. Given your 550W PSU, the standard 6700 would fit well since the 10th gen Intel uses PCIe 3.0 still. A card with at least a PCIe x16 connection would be a solid choice over those capped at x8.

You could consider the 3080 since it's still a great card and prices have dropped a lot, but keep your PSU in mind. You’ll need to check if it has the right PCIe connectors as well.

Not sure a 550W PSU can handle that. Might want to upgrade your power supply first.
