I've been using my dad's Apple ID for media and purchases on my iPad, but now that I'm older, I want to switch to my own Apple ID. If I make this change, will all my app data remain intact? Is there anything else I need to do to make sure everything works smoothly?

You can use the 'migrate purchases' option on your iPad to transfer purchases from your dad's account to yours. Just keep in mind that this might affect the apps linked to your dad's account. Most of your apps are free, so it probably won't be a big deal, but check to see if any of them might be impacted before proceeding.
Your app data should stay safe when you switch accounts. However, for app updates moving forward, you'll need to enter your dad's Apple ID if you're not set up with Family Sharing. If Family Sharing is active between you, you might not need to worry about that!
