Hey folks,

I'm diving back into building a new PC for the first time in years due to some unexpected life changes. This build is mainly targeted at AI workloads, specifically for image and video generation, but I'll also use it for some casual gaming on the side. Here's what I've put together so far:

- **CPU:** Ryzen 9 7900X
- **Motherboard:** MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI (still weighing options with Gigabyte and ASRock boards for GPU clearance and heatsink quality)
- **GPU:** RTX 5090 32GB (MSI VENTUS 3X OC)
- **RAM:** Corsair Vengeance 96GB (2 x 48GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
- **Storage:** Samsung 990 Pro 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD (running OS on an older 860Evo and using Gen4 for tmp, scratch, and models, though I'm considering Gen5)
- **Cooler:** ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 AIO
- **Case:** Lian Li O11D EVO
- **PSU:** Corsair RM1000x 1000W
- **Fans:** Multiple ARCTIC P12 for cooling.

I've been exploring 128GB configurations but kept hearing about stability issues with 4 DIMMs, so I'm sticking with the 96GB setup for now. G.Skill has teased a 2x64GB 128GB kit, but I'm unsure when it will be available.

My workflows include running large models like Flux and Wan2.1 for image and video processing, sometimes utilizing LoRA tuning and CAD modeling as well. I believe that focusing on single tasks like generating images and then upscaling should help manage my workflow effectively, especially as I push for better precision and multitasking in the future. I'm also keen on using AI for 3D development, particularly in my CAD design and 3D scanning projects.

I'd really appreciate any insights from others with similar setups—tips on motherboards, RAM, or optimizing my workflow would be greatly welcomed!

Thanks!

Sounds like a solid build! I went for a 7950x3d and it's been fantastic for AI and rendering, plus some gaming. I think your 96GB RAM is spot on since 64GB is still the norm. Just a tip—consider upgrading your PSU to 1200W for some extra headroom. I've hit close to 1000W on mine, so I recommend it, but your setup should work too!

Great advice! It's always safer to have that extra wattage. What RAM specs are you running?
