Hey everyone! I'm currently working for a supermarket chain that has virtually no IT infrastructure in place. Our ERP system is running locally, but we're planning to migrate to a cloud-based ERP partner. I'm in the process of setting up a Domain Controller with Samba4 and Windows, and I'm also installing ticketing software (GLPi) and Zabbix for monitoring. I'm looking for any additional tips or advice on improving our IT setup!

I've had a good experience with Samba4 too! It really depends on your team's expertise. If you're comfortable with Linux, it can serve your needs well, especially for file sharing and management. Just make sure whoever takes over the support after you is also familiar with it, as it could be complicated for them!
Are you sure a supermarket chain can function effectively with such minimal IT infrastructure? It seems like an essential area to invest in as you grow!
Samba 4 can be quite a hassle to manage for Active Directory functions, so if you're considering keeping it simple, sticking with Windows might be a better route. Just something to keep in mind as you upgrade your IT infrastructure!
What exactly do you mean by 'T.I. infrastructure'? And why are you opting for on-prem solutions instead of fully utilizing cloud options? It could streamline a lot of processes for you. Also, what's your budget for these upgrades?
