Hey everyone!
I recently attempted to upgrade a hardware server from Windows Server 2016 to 2022, but the upgrade failed. After restoring the system, I discovered that the volumes are showing as RAW. These volumes were formatted using ReFS, and it seems the upgrade has moved them to ReFS version 3.7, which I know is not supported by Windows Server 2016. I've tried the in-place upgrade multiple times, but it keeps failing.
Is there any way to install a driver or something that would allow Server 2016 to read these ReFS 3.7 volumes? I'd appreciate any suggestions or help you guys can provide.
Thanks!

What backup solution are you using? If it's something like Veeam, make sure you have a configuration backup. You could wipe the OS, install Server 2022, set up Veeam, and then restore the configuration from there. That might be your best bet!
That sounds like a solid plan! I actually upgraded our servers not long ago and followed a similar route. I went up to Server 2025, which is working great with Veeam now. Just had some initial iSCSI issues under high load that got fixed quickly.
