Upgrading My Dell Inspiron 3670 to Run Baldur’s Gate 3 – Need Help!

I've had my Dell Inspiron 3670 for a while, and it's done its job well, but I'm now looking to upgrade it to play Baldur's Gate 3. My current specs include an Intel i7-8700 CPU, 16 GB RAM, a GeForce GT 1050 (2 GB), and 1.82 TB storage. I've heard that my GPU needs an upgrade since it doesn't meet the game's requirements. I'm on a budget of $500 but could stretch to $800 if necessary. Can anyone suggest a suitable graphics card and any other components I might need? I want to do this upgrade as soon as possible since I'm excited to play the game!

First thing you'll want to check is your power supply. If it's only 290W, it'll limit your GPU options. The Inspiron 3670 likely can't handle anything super powerful due to this and the proprietary parts. Honestly, you might be better off selling your current setup and building something new. However, if you really want to upgrade, aiming for something like the RTX 3050 (low profile) could be a good start. It doesn't require extra power and should give you a nice bump in performance for BG3. Just keep in mind you might have to tweak some settings for the best experience.

You could also consider a used GPU like the GTX 1070. I've run BG3 on it with no issues! Make sure to check local listings for good deals, as you can find some solid options that fit your budget.

If you don't mind exploring half-height cards, the RTX 3050 is a solid choice! It greatly outperforms your current GT 1050 and should handle BG3 well. You might need to lower some settings, but it'll be worth it! Just keep in mind that finding a good deal on any specific model might take some patience.
