What can I do to improve game performance on my Linux PC?

I recently switched to Linux on my new Mini PC that I received for Christmas. My specs include an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U, AMD Barcelo integrated graphics, a 512GB SSD, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM, which I thought would be sufficient to run Marvel's Spider Man 2. I installed it via Lutris (it's a pirated copy, just to clarify), but the performance is really disappointing; I only get about 25 fps at the most when no other processes are running. What steps can I take to enhance the performance?

I’m curious about how you concluded that these specs would run the game well. What kind of research did you do?

Based on your specs, 25 fps sounds pretty realistic. Integrated graphics typically struggle with demanding games like this one. I’ve seen benchmarks showing similar power levels hitting around 35 fps at 720p with FSR enabled. If you want a smoother experience, you might want to consider getting a dedicated graphics card.

It looks like your integrated graphics won’t cut it for a game like Marvel's Spider Man 2. The minimum requirements suggest you need at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT for decent performance. From benchmarks, your AMD Barcelo integrated graphics are significantly less powerful—about half as strong as a modern office laptop. Honestly, 25 fps might be the best you can get under these conditions.
